UNBOUND: New Photo Zines assembles six emerging Australian photographic artists in a major group exhibition at ArtSpace at Realm.
First appearing in a series of zines, published by the Centre for Contemporary Photography (CCP) and Perimeter Editions in 2025, these artists represent the next generation of Australian photography.
Emerging from CCP’s long-standing commitment to accessible publishing and artistic experimentation, Unbound: New Photo Zines activates an exciting expansion of these works from the printed page to the gallery wall.
The CCP.PE.ZINE series – from which this exhibition flows – aims to increase the visibility of young and emerging Australian photographers. CCP Director Daniel Boetker- Smith selected the first six projects to feature in these affordable, tactile, and intentionally democratic publications. This ongoing project is the perfect launchpad to champion new photographers whose practices are urgent and personal, and visually engaging.
Each zine features one Australian photographer. Unbound: New Photo Zines brings artists Minami Ivory, Nik Ranepura, Yask Desai, Ryley Clarke, Patricia Sofra and Hussein Abdirahman Mohamud’s unique ways of using the camera together in dialogue to spark new narratives, ideas and explorations of contemporary visual storytelling.
This is a Centre for Contemporary Photography exhibition presented in partnership with Artspace at Realm and Maroondah Council, and is supported by HCPro, Spicers, Hahnemuhle, and Perimeter Books.
