Socrates suggested that memories should be seen as imprints in soft wax; fragile and never completely solid, subject to changes in state. For Future Reference looks at the capacity photography has to trigger, hold and play with memory.

The exhibition tracks the slipperiness of memory as a concept and examines the way that image-based representation can both monumentalise and subvert perceptions.
