CCP exhibitions span multiple disciplines in traditional and contemporary photo-based arts. A diversity of perspectives across five gallery spaces offers scope for engaging with and understanding how different artists work creatively. The gallery provides a valuable opportunity to view and respond to artwork first-hand and gain insights into the contemporary art industry.

Plan your trip to CCP

All school group / University group visits must be requested and confirmed with the Gallery Manager prior to your visit. Please try to book your visit two weeks in advance.

Please email info@ccp.org.au or call the gallery between Monday to Friday, 10am to 5pm, to arrange a visit

It is suggested that group sizes be no larger than 30 students, though we can accommodate up to 150 students. Please discuss your requirements for larger groups.

School / University Teachers are required to remain with the students throughout their visit. It is suggested that visits have a 25/1 ratio of students to teachers.

Floortalks are presented by CCP staff who will introduce students to the artistic themes and content of CCP’s current exhibition program, relevant for students from Years 7-12. CCP staff can also discuss connections to subject matter and assessment tasks in Art Making and Exhibiting, Art Creative Practice, Media and Visual Communication Design VCE Units.

Teachers are encouraged to view the Exhibition Program on our website for further details about current and forthcoming exhibitions, and to discuss their visit with our Gallery Manager – contact info@ccp.org.au

CCP does not charge an entry fee or a fee for a floortalk, but we have a “suggested” fee of $5 or gold coin per student for each floortalk by a CCP staff member. We understand that this may not be possible for some students/schools.

Exhibiting artist talks are available upon request, subject to availability, for an additional fee.

CCP has an education space, that can accomodate 15-20 students that can be used for classes/breakout space etc. This space is equipped with a projector, tables and chairs. This space can be used by groups for an additional fee.

Please call the gallery on (03) 9417 1549 to book a visit or floortalk, or email info@ccp.org.au

Artist talks and workshops

CCP frequently runs artist talks to accompany exhibitions. This is a great opportunity to hear the artists talk about their work first hand, ask questions and find out more about their practice.

An informal artist talk session takes place on the first Saturday of each exhibition at 12pm, this is a free event and open to all ages.

CCP Workshops are a rare opportunity to grow your skills with major photographic artists. Renowned practitioners from both artistic and commercial worlds deliver short courses of varying durations on all types of topics and skills. Providing intense, in depth and intimate sessions that give a behind-the-scenes view to these artists’ practices, workshops may also include personal folio reviews and course assignments. For more information about upcoming workshops and masterclasses, visit our Events page.
