CCP is pleased to announce our call for our 2024 Creative Residency program. This program supports emerging and established photographers, curators, writers, and designers and is made possible by our partner Milieu Property.
Applications open now!
With the support of our partner Milieu Property we are calling for applications for the 2024 CCP Creative Residency – a 12-month program that offers 6 x subsidised desk-spaces at CCP 404 George St, Fitzroy for the whole of 2024. The Creative Residency is designed to provide access to the CCP community, a vibrant creative-hub in the heart of Fitzroy, and to help emerging and established creatives to build networks and achieve outcomes
CCP invites applications from emerging and established photographers, curators, writers, and designers of all ages. The CCP Creative Residency and our partner Milieu Property encourages applications from First Nations people, people with disabilities, LGBTQIA+, or people from culturally and linguistically diverse backgrounds.
We will be offering one fully-subsidised 12-month Creative Residency place to a First Nations photographer/creative (i.e. 100% free of charge).
Creative Residents will receive 3 x mentoring sessions per year with the CCP Director, Curator or appropriate member of the CCP Board.
Creative Residents may also be invited to be involved in CCP’s exhibition, education or events program where appropriate, in line with their experience and professional goals.
Applications close 11.59pm 16th December 2023, and will be assessed by the CCP Director, CCP Curator, and two members of the CCP Board.
Applications will be received by email – to Daniel Boetker-Smith director@ccp.org.au

Further information:
- The CCP Creative Residency Program is supported and subsidised by Milieu Property.
- There is a monthly cost per resident of $300 (inc GST) as well as a $300 (returnable) bond payable upon commencement.
- Each resident receives their own allocated desk, and access to unlimited WIFI internet access. Each desk is approx 90mmx120mm, with a standard office chair. Creative Residents will also have access to other CCP amenities, printer, meeting, education, kitchen and other spaces at CCP, and will be able to use them free of charge.
- The program is non-residential. The CCP is securely alarmed, with key-code access 24/7.
- CCP Creative Residents may organise professional events or programming using the CCP spaces, with prior approval from the Director. The desk spaces are in a large, lockable, communal office, with natural light, shared with the CCP part-time staff. The space is air-conditioned and heated.
- During their time at CCP, Creative Residents may be invited to take part in the exhibition, education, commissioning, competitions, events or public program at CCP. Involvement may be accompanied by a paid artist or participation fee, and additional support for production and development may be provided (where appropriate).
- The CCP Creative Residency Program also incorporates professional development opportunities via 3 x mentoring sessions per year with the CCP Director, Curator or appropriate member of the CCP Board, at no charge.
- Additionally, Creative Residents will have access to the regular interstate and international visitors (curators, publishers, gallery directors) to the CCP. These opportunities will be facilitated by the CCP staff. Creative Residents will also be invited to take part in CCP staff professional development activities during the year, at no extra cost.
- Creative Residents are eligible for access and participation in all CCP events, workshops, masterclasses etc at no additional cost. Creative Residents are granted free entry to the CCP Summer Salon.
- Shared Residency: Please note we are also open to combined applications of two people to share one of the Creative Residents positions. This would mean the Creative Residency desk is divided between two people, splitting the access equally between them. The allocated Creative Resident desk at CCP can only be used by one person at any one time. For a shared residency a combined application should be made. Where a shared residency is approved, the $300 monthly cost would then be shared by the two residents. Additional costs for additional keys etc will be covered by the residents.
- The Creative Residency will commence in late January 2024, and finish late December 2024.
