It has been said that a photograph is an existential imprint of reality. The photographs in this exhibition are reminiscent of thoughts, traces of which have been captured on the surface of the film. An individual's journey yields a sense of self, both intimate and aloof, extending an invitation to others to look within themselves.Thoughts of Self seeks to displace known perceptions by using abstract surfaces, textures and layering to photographically initiate associations of feeling and thought, encouraging reflection and contemplation on a highly personal level.
