In this body of work, I investigate the notion of what makes us beautiful and who determines what the latest look might be. By examining popular and beautiful faces in deteriorating forms, I attempt to challenge our perception of beauty, asking how long the impression lasts. Will the growing lengths we go to in order to achieve desired results really be worth it in the end? Using images of famous men and women, other questions arise. Are the same expectations felt by both sexes? Have men felt the same pressures of beauty versus ageing as have women, and is this trend changing? How realistic are the goals we set ourselves in striving to achieve an everlasting never-ageing look of perfection?
