A series of blue-white golf balls launches out into the dark space of a warm Tokyo night in Mizuno D301. The hard 'tack' and 'tonk' sounds of club against ball punctuate the muted roar of distant traffic and the muffled hyper-feminine 'yellow' voice from a loudspeaker as it floats in and away. The small meteorites describe the space of the Takashimadaira Golf Garden as they arc out and over. Some are seen landing within the space of three monolithic fences on four circles of stripy, synthetic grass, where before long, the cold embrace of a mechanical arm sweeps them off into the gloom. Other balls trace a different course, moving towards the grid of the rear fence and disappearing into its indeterminate blank, black spaces.
