Minimal Interventions is a video and sound installation which conveys the transitional nature of representation and identity. Imagery which speaks of personal identity (photo albums, filmed footage) is juxtaposed with found imagery from a variety of media sources (news coverage, television, magazines). Through mechanisms of cropping, mapping, blurring and shifting, these images are reduced to abstract formal elements like dots and lines, reframing occurs and a new narrative is created. Minimal Interventions questions the construction of reality offered through the media while sound experiments challenge the reverential power of the image itself.
