Images recording the passage of time overlit by others casting a sensation of moment, surface, intimate space. Memory's Surface is a photographic installation relating rephotographed architectural sites and direct photographs of the same location 50 years later. All sites are located in Germany and the photographs date from pre-1945 to 1995. The areas of the projected image embraces the architectural site and changes the apparent stasis of bricks and mortar. The projection contradicts the passage of 50 years and draws attention to the different perceptions of intimate surroundings as opposed to icons of the wider world.
