E-180 maps and investigates a cultural condition which is now increasingly blurred and out of focus: the relation of the body to object/images. This relation is considered through the medium of technology and the way in which different technological processes mediate our experience of the immediate environment. The exhibition is composed of two parts: a video installation and a series of colour photographs. Both are conscious of their placement within the gallery space and their relationship to the viewer. The video projections reveal Nervegna's intrigue with the 'crystalline', multi-faceted nature of the video image and its ability to map heterogenous elements within a continuous surface/environment, while her photographic series investigates the different recording processes used by the viewer/tourist to document a cultural sightseeing experience.
E-180 is accompanied by additional off-site screenings at the @lt.media video screen located at the corner of Bourke Street and Swanston Walk Melbourne (screenings separated by 15 minute intervals).
