I am often powerfully attracted to the strong symbolic charge in clothes and prosaic objects that are worn-out and considered un-sexy. In Contagious, a skeleton is sketched from the worthless remains of packaging. I am interested in the symbiotic and ethereal relationship between the human body and psyche and the discarded, industrially extruded object. Visually the work is dark, but this quality contrasts with the uplifting cosmic energies it addresses—the utopian vibe that importantly encourages, hugs and bends humankind, and potentially 'propels' one into an 'exciting' unknown.
