LES WALKLING In response to CCP Member feedback, we are delighted to announce CCP�s first Members' Evening, Wednesday 29 April, 6�8pm.

Members are invited to join CCP Director Naomi Cass and CCP staff for an informal evening of conversation about current issues in photography.

We are delighted that special guests Matthew Sleeth and Les Walkling will make brief presentations and meet with Members.

Refreshments will be served.

This is a free event for Members. If you wish to bring a friend or prospective Member, entrance will be $6.00 (inc GST) for your guest.

MATTHEW SLEETH Matthew Sleeth is a Melbourne-based artist. He has exhibited widely in Australia, USA, Japan and Europe and as part of international events including the Berlin Photography Festival, Odense Photo Biennale (Denmark), Noorderlicht Photofestival (The Netherlands) and the Venice Architecture Biennale. A touring exhibition of his work commenced at Aperture Gallery, New York in 2008. Matthew was recently named as one of Australia�s 50 most collectable artists by Australian Art Collector magazine. Matthew�s work is held in major public collections in Australia, Denmark, United States and numerous private collections. His books include Ten Series/106 Photographs (2007), Opfikon (2004), Survey (2004), home+away (2003), Tour Of Duty (2002) and Roaring Days (1998). Matthew is represented by Josef Lebovic Gallery (Sydney), Sophie Gannon Gallery (Melbourne), Jan Manton Art (Brisbane), Galerie Lichtblick (Cologne), Galleri Hornbaek (Denmark) and Claire Oliver Gallery (New York).

Dr Les Walkling is an artist, educator and consultant. He studied science and philosophy at Monash University before turning to fine art photography in 1975. His work is in many public collections including The Metropolitan Museum of Art, New York, The National Gallery of Australia, Canberra and The National Gallery of Victoria. Les is the former Program Director of Media Arts at RMIT University, Melbourne, Australia, where he is now a Senior Research Fellow and Australian Research Council Discovery Project grant recipient in the School of Art. He also conducts regular digital imaging courses through the Centre for Contemporary Photography and the Australian Institute of Professional Photography, contributes to journals such as Better Photoshop Techniques, works as a digital imaging and colour management consultant, and regularly presents at digital imaging industry conferences, seminars and festivals. His current research interests include, genealogies of digital light, material thinking, and preoccupations of beauty.
