Centre for Contemporary Photography (CCP) is the pre-eminent Victorian organisation for the exhibition of contemporary photo-based arts, providing a context for the enjoyment, education, understanding and appraisal of contemporary practice.

CCP is delighted to be offering this major photograph for the 2009 CCP Limited Edition Print, generously provided by eminent Australian artist, Bill Henson.

This follows the highly successful CCP Limited Edition Print 2008, Anne Zahalka’s The Bathers 1989.

Untitled 1985/86/2009, is a limited edition of 12. In this series Bill Henson shifted decisively to colour photography. These images depict the highly improbable juxtaposition of Australian suburbia with ancient Egyptian ruins, punctuated by enigmatic portraits of teenagers and moody cloudscapes.

Bill Henson is a generous and frequent supporter of not-for-profit arts organisations and other non-art related charitable causes across Australia. He has donated work to CCP fundraising appeals on many occasions. CCP is most grateful for his support in 2009.

Eighty percent of funds raised through the CCP Limited Edition Print enable CCP to support the practice and presentation of contemporary photography through provision of exhibitions, education, public programs and publishing; the artist will retain twenty percent. CCP also welcomes tax deductible donations.

Untitled 1985/86/2009 will be on view at CCP Friday 2 and Saturday 3 October 2009, 11am–6pm.

Bill Henson is represented by Roslyn Oxley9 Gallery, Sydney, Tolarno Galleries, Melbourne and Robert Miller Gallery, New York.
