Careers in Photography Seminar
A program for senior secondary and tertiary students
Due to popular demand Centre for Contemporary Photography will again host a Careers in Photography Seminar. Set amongst CCP’s dynamic exhibition spaces this seminar will look at issues in becoming a professional photographer, through various avenues of professional practice: photojournalism, commercial and art photography.
Ulanda Blair, Project Coordinator, Next Wave Festival, will speak about issues facing graduates and how to get started; Andrew Chapman, who for over thirty five years has contributed to newspapers and magazines (Time Magazine and The Bulletin), will speak about his work in photojournalism; Ben Glezer will address his work as a commercial photographer and Chantal Faust will speak on crafting a life as an art photographer. Careers in Photography will be chaired by Michael Nichols, CCP Education Officer.
Other issues addressed will be training, support networks, keeping informed, studio spaces, employment opportunities, galleries, grants, promoting yourself and getting started and making decisions about a career in photography.
Taking place in CCP’s Visy Education space, the seminar is limited to 25 participants, so book early to avoid disappointment. Refreshments will be provided.
